About LookStar

LookStar is an augmented reality (AR) star map for Android, iPhone, and iPad. Point your phone at the night sky and the app draws stars, constellation lines, and planets over the live camera view in real time. It is made for anyone curious about the sky, from first-time stargazers to astronomy enthusiasts.

LookStar includes all 88 constellations recognized by the International Astronomical Union (IAU), the planets of our solar system, and bright stars such as Sirius, Vega, and Betelgeuse. Search for any constellation or planet and follow the direction guide to find it, tap a star to see details such as its magnitude, filter stars by brightness, and turn on Night Mode to protect your eyes in the dark.

To place the sky correctly, LookStar uses your phone's GPS, compass, accelerometer, and gyroscope. Location, sensor, and camera data stay on your device. LookStar is free to download on Google Play and the App Store. It shows ads, and an optional in-app purchase removes them.
