Terms of Use

Effective date: September 26, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Sandpia ("we," "our," or "us") about the use of My Ganada ("the app"), a Hangul learning app.

If a child uses the app, these Terms are meant to be read and accepted by a parent or legal guardian. When we say "you," we mean the parent or guardian who allows a child to use the app, and, where appropriate, the child.

1. Accepting These Terms

By downloading, installing, or allowing your child to use the app, you agree to these Terms on your own behalf and on behalf of your child. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Your use of the app is also subject to the terms of the store you downloaded it from (the Apple App Store or Google Play). Where those store terms differ from these Terms, the store terms apply to your relationship with that store.

2. For Parents and Guardians

  • If a child uses the app, we recommend that a parent or guardian helps them and decides how long and how often they use the app.
  • Purchases and reminder settings are protected by a grown-up gate. The gate is a simple check, not a security feature, so please keep your store account protected with a password or a family purchase approval setting.
  • You are responsible for the device and the store account used with the app, including any purchases made with it.

3. License to Use the App

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to download and use the app on devices you own or control, only for your family's personal, non-commercial learning, in accordance with the rules of the app store you downloaded it from.

4. Educational Content — No Guarantee of Results

The app provides Hangul learning activities, including tracing, listening, word matching, dictation, and picture storybooks, for general educational purposes. Every child learns at their own pace, and we do not guarantee any particular learning outcome. While we work to keep the content accurate and age-appropriate, we do not warrant that it is error-free or complete. The app is not a substitute for professional instruction or advice for children who may need special support.

5. AI-Generated Content

Some content in the app, including illustrations, storybook pictures, and voice narration, may be created or assisted by generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools. We review content carefully, but AI-generated content may contain errors, unnatural elements, or pronunciation that differs from standard Korean. It is not represented as being created, drawn, or recorded by a person, or as reflecting any real person or voice.

Please do not treat AI-generated audio as an authoritative standard for pronunciation. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for reliance on AI-generated content. This Section does not limit Sections 14 and 15.

6. Ganada Plus Subscription

Ganada Plus is an optional auto-renewable subscription, offered as a monthly plan or a yearly plan. The benefits, price, and billing period are shown on the subscription screen before you buy. The app can be used without a subscription.

  • Payment: purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, not by us. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account when you confirm the purchase.
  • Auto-renewal: the subscription renews automatically at the then-current price unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Managing and canceling: you can manage or cancel the subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Canceling stops future renewals, and benefits continue until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
  • Restoring: using "Restore purchases" in the app with the same store account restores an active subscription, for example on a new device. A subscription bought on one store cannot be restored on the other.
  • Keeping it active: the app checks the subscription with the store from time to time. If the device stays offline for several days, subscription benefits may pause until the check succeeds.
  • Family approval: purchases waiting for a parent's approval (for example, Ask to Buy or Google Family Link) are applied only after they are approved.
  • Price changes: any change to the subscription price is handled by the store under its own notice and consent procedures.

7. Cancellation, Refunds, and Purchases by Minors

Refunds are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own refund policies (for example, through reportaproblem.apple.com or Google Play's refund request), and we generally cannot issue refunds directly. If a purchase is refunded or reversed, the related benefits may be removed.

Nothing in these Terms limits any right of withdrawal, cancellation, or refund you have under the consumer laws of your country. For users in Korea, this includes the right of withdrawal under Article 17 of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, subject to the limits set out in that Act.

Under the Korean Civil Act, if a minor makes a purchase without the consent of a legal guardian, the minor or the legal guardian may cancel the purchase, except in cases where the law limits cancellation (for example, where the minor used deception to appear to be an adult or to have consent). If your child made a purchase without your permission, please contact the store and us, and we will help as much as we can.

8. Advertisements

Unless you subscribe to Ganada Plus, the app may display advertisements through Google AdMob. All ad requests are set for children: ads are not personalized, and the maximum content rating is G. Ads are provided by third parties, and we are not responsible for the products or services they promote. How ad-related data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

9. In-App Rewards

Seeds, water drops, stickers, and items in the app are play rewards earned by learning. They have no monetary value, cannot be bought, sold, exchanged, or refunded, and may change as we update the app.

10. Acceptable Use

When using the app, you must not:

  • copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the app or its content;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where this restriction is prohibited by law;
  • access or download content from our servers other than through the app, or interfere with the app, our servers, or networks; or
  • attempt to bypass the grown-up gate, in-app purchase mechanisms, advertisements, or any security controls.

11. Intellectual Property

The app and its content, including text, learning material, illustrations, characters, storybooks, audio, logos, and software, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Drawings your child makes in the app belong to your family. Except for the license in Section 3, these Terms do not grant you any rights in the app or its content. Open-source licenses used in the app can be found in the app's settings.

12. Third-Party Services

The app uses third-party services, including Google AdMob (advertising), Google ML Kit (handwriting recognition model), and the Apple App Store and Google Play (purchases). Your use of the app may be subject to their terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.

13. Privacy

Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data the app processes and how children's privacy is protected.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, so they may not apply to you.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data arising out of or related to the use of (or inability to use) the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for damage caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your mandatory rights as a consumer.

16. Changes to the App and These Terms

We may update, change, or discontinue the app or any of its features. We may also update these Terms. We will post updated Terms on this page at least 7 days before they take effect, or at least 30 days before if the changes are unfavorable to you. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may stop using the app and cancel your subscription. Continuing to use the app after the changes take effect means you accept them.

17. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it (please also cancel any subscription in your store account). We may suspend or end access to the app if these Terms are materially breached or the app is used in a way that could cause harm or legal liability. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability, continue to apply.

18. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any dispute will be handled by the court with jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.

Users in Korea may also seek help from the Korea Consumer Agency (1372, www.ccn.go.kr) or the Content Dispute Resolution Committee (www.kcdrc.kr).

20. Additional Terms for the Apple App Store

This Section applies only if you obtained the app from the Apple App Store.

  • Acknowledgement: these Terms are between you and Sandpia only, not Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Sandpia, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
  • Scope of license: the license in Section 3 is a non-transferable license to use the app on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
  • Maintenance and support: Sandpia is solely responsible for maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support services.
  • Warranty: if the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) of the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
  • Product claims: Sandpia, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection, privacy, or similar laws.
  • Intellectual property: Sandpia, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any third-party claim that the app infringes that third party's intellectual property rights.
  • Legal compliance: you represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Third-party terms: you must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the app.
  • Third-party beneficiary: Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
